‘Home’ is the eighth studio album by Dutch band The Gathering & was originally released on 15th April 2006 by Sanctuary Records through its heavy metal label, Noise. ‘Home’ was also the last album to feature lead singer and lyricist Anneke van Giersbergen. The release was produced, mixed and engineered by Attie Bauw, who was also at the helm during the ‘How to Measure a Planet?’ recordings, and was recorded in a little church in Maurik, the Netherlands. Drummer Hans Rutten described ‘Home’ as being "more stripped-down and primitive, more concentrated on song structures". The album includes a concept based about the daily routine of the life & is considered The Gathering's most dark and emotional work to date.
