This release presents the complete widely celebratedMassey Hall concert, performed in Canada by an all-starquintet of bebop founders which would never be reunitedagain. It appears here in the actual order of performanceand without the added bass and echo which darkened thesound quality of some issues. As a bonus, we present aversion of “Bass-ically Speaking”. Although the trackwas recorded at a New York studio, Mingus originallyincluded it, with dubbed applause, as part of the MasseyHall concert.
