Pretty much all of Lacksman’s ‘70sreleases command a devout collectorfollowing, but none of them can measureup to the one he recorded in 1974 underthe name Electronic System, TchipTchip (Vol. 3). While much of side oneTchip Tchip presents the composer’ssignature blend of synthesizer kitsch andboundary-breaking creativity, rangingfrom the oom-pah sound of the title track to the wacky“Spider,” almost all of side two is devoted to the 14-minute “Sky Lab,” whichsounds like it came right off an Air record recorded 25 years later, with maybea little Dark Side-era Pink Floyd thrown in. A true marvel, this track is whyoriginal copies of Tchip Tchip are downright unaffordable…it’s not to be missed.Released on CD and an orange vinyl pressing limited to 900 copies!
