The Wave Quartet opens up again new sound spaces - from highlights of Bizet’s Carmen to Ed Sheeran's Perfect and The Police's Message in a Bottle in marimba-arrangements.
The Wave Quartet is a unique and interesting ensemble in the world of classical music. Their previous album with harpsichord concertos by Bach in own arrangements for marimba and orchestra received fantastic reviews. Their new album features highlights from Bizet's Carmen, for which they arranged Rodion Schtschedrin’s Carmen-Suite for four marimbas. The ensemble also recorded marimba arrangements of the pop hits, Ed Sheeran's Perfect, The Police's Message in a Bottle and Suzanne Vegas' Gypsy as well as a piece for percussion, Udacrep Akubrad, by the Israeli composer Avner Dorman in an arrangement for three marimbas and percussion.
