David Gilmour oznámil, že 18. září 2015 vydá na labelu Columbia Records své nové sólové album RATTLE THAT LOCK. Prvním singlem z alba je titulní skladba RATTLE THAT LOCK:

RATTLE THAT LOCK je Gilmourovým čtvrtým sólovým albem a navazuje na desku ON AN ISLAND z roku 2006, která se stala britskou #1. Primárním textařem nových skladeb je opět osvědčený a dlouholetý spolupracovník Polly Samson, koproducentem alba se stal – kromě samotného Gilmoura – i Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music). Autorem obalu alba je Dave Stansbie z The Creative Corporation pod vedením kreativního umělce Aubreye Powella z Hipgnosis.
