Její hity, jako "Respect", "Natural Woman" a "I Say a Little Prayer", se staly ikonickými hymnami soulu a R&B. Její hudba spojovala gospel, R&B, soul a pop, a její interpretace písní byla vždy plná emocí a vášně.
