The fi rst of the celebrated song booksrecorded by Ella and one of the best vocal jazz albums ever made, the Cole PorterSong Book was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2000, which honorsrecordings that have “qualitative or historical signifi cance”. In 2003, it was oneof 50 recordings chosen by the Library of Congress in Washington to be added tothe National Recording Registry. A live version of “Love for Sale” from the sameperiod has been added as a bonus track.
