Between the late 1720s and early 1740s Telemann responded to the growing popularity of moral poetry and periodicals by publishing more than fifty chamber cantatas, songs, and odes with moralizing texts. Early music specialist soprano Julianne Baird is the ideal singer for these works. She is accompanied by a superb period instrument ensemble.
